Here are this months product of interest.
This is my new 8" Pioneer Subwoofer for which I am making an enclosure for in my Resistant Materials GCSE lessons.
This sub woofer is a generally good sub woofer for an 8 incher. Although not for SPL competitions it is a fairly powerfull sub with an excelent specification for its size. I have owned a JBL 8" sub woofer before this pioneer one and I have to admit that even though the JBL one was good, I think the Pioneer 8" quite fairly kicks the JBL's ass!
The large damper design gives it a good strength to stand up to reasonably high levels of volume. Testing this sub woofer using the Maystar MX 235 amplifier, it sounds absolutely great for an 8 incher even at high volumes it stood up to the power it was being fed.
The Sub isn't all good though, the major problem with this sub is the luca terminals. Pioneer have opted to make a quality sub, look like a budget one by putting these cheep connectors on. If you look at the Maystar Sub woofers at £40 for a 12 incher, they have banana plug terminals on the speaker.

Overall with the good looks and the tendancy to stand up to 120w RMS power input at almost full volume without distorting, I would give this product a rating of 7 out of 10
