How to wire up an amplifier system.
This section of my website will tell you how to wire up a four channel amplifier with a sub-woofer and some componants.
Step One: Power Connections.

First make sure there isn't a fuse or anything else in the fuse holder. (if there is a fuse, remove it. This will prevent any electric shocks.)
Then run the +12v power cable through the car from the battery with the fuse holder 300mm or less away from the battery.
Then run the remote cable from the amp through to the head unit. Scotchlock the remote cable onto the elecrtic areal lead. (the remote cable tells the amp when to turn on and off)
Lastly Connect the ground wire to the amplifier and the other end to the chasis
Step Two: Input Connections

First connect the RCA cables from the head-unit to the extended RCA cables going to the amp.
Next you shoulld run the RCA cables through the car, under the carpet, to your amplifier.
Then Connect the RCA cables to the splitter (splits two channels into four, not always needed either if 2 channel amp or head-unit has 4 RCA cables as standard)
Connect the four RCA cables to the amplifier.
Step Three: Output Connections

First, set the Ch 3/4 x-over to LPF (Low Pass Filter) with the bass boost on, also set the Ch 1/2 x-over to Full.
Then connect the speaker wires for the sub-woofer, the negative (-) wire to the - terminal for Ch 4 and the positive (+) wire to the + terminal for Ch 3. The sub is running bridged power. (2 channels converted into one with twice the power)
Next connect the Ch 2 + with the speaker wire to the + in the left side componant X-over and the Ch2 - to the - in the left side x-over. Then connect the Ch 1+ with the speaker wire to the + in the right side componant X-over and the Ch1 - to the - in the right side x-over.
Conect the + and - of the mid part of the x-over to the + and - on the mid-range speaker of your componants, on the left side. Then conect the + and - of the high part of the x-over to the + and - on the tweeter on the left side. Then do the same again with the right side x-over and speakers.
Part Four: Seting up the amplifier.

Start by turnuing both level controlls to minimum, on the head unit turn the volume upto 70% of highest.
Gradually increase the level of Ch 3/4 until you can hear the sub-woofer enter distortion, then turn it a fraction of a degree back.
Then Gradually increase the level of Ch 1/2 until you can hear the tweeters or mid-range speakers enter distortion, then turn it a fraction of a degree back.
Note: Never use the level controll as a volume controll, you will end up burning your speakers out.
Your Amplified sound system is now setup!
